Hello, my name is Shirat. I enjoy playing hide and seek with my friends. My favourite food is rice and meat. I love colouring pictures and my favourite colour is orange. My favourite animal is a dog. I want to become a nurse when I grow up.
History
Shirat lives with her parents and her sister Jazira. They live in a one roomed house. Shirat’s mother tomatoes at a roadside market and her father does odd jobs to earn a living. Their income is very low and they are unable to provide the basic needs of the family. Your support through child sponsorship will change Shirat’s life and help the entire family.
Shirat like so many children in Uganda, lives in extreme poverty. Your monthly contribution will enable Shirat to attend school, be fitted with a uniform, supplied with textbooks and have her exam fees covered. She will eat a healthy school lunch each day and if required she will receive medical care. More importantly, Shirat will receive an education which gives her hope for a brighter future.
