We have ministry, building, education, and community development projects ready to go. Our adventure trips are absolutely awesome you will experience the real Uganda in both our project sites in Kampala and in Abim, you will also get to experience a fantastic safari and stay at Parra Lodge on the Nile River and see amazing wildlife.
How much does it cost
Costs:
Teams consisting of 5 – 9 people: $2400AUD per person
Teams consisting of 10 or more people: $2200AUD per person
Cost include all transport / meals / accommodation / water / Safari park fees, and accommodation listed in the itinerary
Payment:
• Confirmation deposit 3 months out from trip – $500 AUD payable to Operation Uganda. (non – refundable)
• Balance payable 3 weeks from departure payable to Operation Uganda. (airfares are additional approx $1,800 – $2,500 p/p)
Note:
1. Before arrival: $50USD payable for Uganda tourist Visa. https://visas.immigration.go.ug
2. Project funds – we ask each individual to commit to raising a minimum of $1,000 AUD towards the project the group will work on within a community in Uganda, previously people have raised funds through garage sales, BBQ’s, general donations from business and community, car washes, fundraiser dinners/ high teas. Funds raised for project activities are Tax Deductible – Operation Uganda can issue a tax receipt (please note a tax receipt must be requested at time of deposit of funds), please all costs associated with team members travel cost are not tax deductible.
Sample Itinerary
Day 1: Fri
• 1 – 2pm Arrival at Entebbe Airport, Picked up by Operation Uganda team member in a Toyota 22 seater coaster or 10 seater Toyota minivan depending on size of team.
• 3 – 5pm: Jordan House Community centre – Cup of tea / Meet and greet and Orientation. 5pm transfer to Guesthouse.
• 7.00pm: Dinner at Guest House (O/night KLA)
• (Included meals: / Dinner, bottled water)
Day 2: Sat
• 8.00am: B/fast @ Guest House
• 9.00am: Transfer to Jordan House Community Centre
• 9.40am: Briefing / cup of tea
• 10.00am: Community walk /ministry walk (Community walk is an opportunity to visit people in the community we work and minister with – team members will be split up into groups of 3 plus one of our national team members and will walk around the slums and visit homes – this time is also used as a ministry walk whereby visiting team members have opportunity to share a scripture and encouragement to people they visit within their homes.
• 1.00pm: Lunch at Jordan House with National team
• 2.30pm: Activities with Kids
• 5.00pm: Rtn to guest house
• 7.00pm: Dinner at Guest House (O/night at KLA)

Day 3: Sun
• 8.00am: B/fast @ Guest House
• 9.30am: Transfer to Jordan House Church
• 10.00am: Jordan House Church, Ugandan style
• 1.00pm: Community Lunch, help to serve community members (normally about 500 – 800 people for lunch)
• 4.00pm: Transfer back to Guest House
• 7.00pm: Dinner at Guest House (O/night at KLA).
• 7.00pm: option to attend Ndere Cultural Show – additional charge of $30USD incl Dinner and show.

Day 4: Mon
• 8.00am: B/fast @ Guest House
• 9.00am: Transfer to Project site – Project can be flexible and can be modified to suit skills on team. Projects in the past have included: Classroom renovations in local primary schools, preparation of foundation and bricklaying of classroom blocks, teacher capacity training, health and hygiene training, building of children’s playground. Teams are encouraged to raise funds towards a project that they will be involved with whilst in Uganda.

• 5.00pm: Transfer back to Guest House / Accommodation
• 7.00pm: Dinner at Guest House (O/night at KLA).

Day 5: Tues
• 8.00am: B/fast @ Guest House
• 9.00am: Transfer to Project site
• 11.30pm: Morning Break

• 7.00pm: Dinner at Guest House (O/night at KLA).

• Option to reduce one day in Kampala and include an extra day in Abim depending on project.
Day 6: Wed
• 5.30am: Depart for Abim District which is North Eastern Uganda, this area is a war affected area and as a result of years of instability and being quite remote, the area lacks infrastructure including school buildings – Operation Uganda has been able to complete a 7 classroom block, and plans to initiate more classroom building projects.
• 9.00am: Snacks on the road / toilet stop and morning tea in Lira.
• 2.30pm: Lunch at Abim
• 3.30pm: Meet and greet with School in Oringowello and interaction with children.
• 5.30pm: Transfer back to Guest House / Accommodation
• 7.00pm: Dinner at Guest House (O/night at Abim).
• (Included meals: Lunch and Dinner, Morning tea, bottled water)
Day 7: Thurs
• 8.30am: Transfer to Project site – Oringowello Primary School or other Primary school
• 9.30am: Project – painting or building / activities with kids / teaching classes
• 1.00pm: Lunch
• 2.00pm: Project – painting or building / activities with kids / teaching classes
• 5.00pm: Transfer back to Guest House / Accommodation
• 7.00pm: Dinner at Guest House (O/night at Abim).

Day 8: Fri
• 8.00am: Breakfast at Guest House
• 9.30am: kids program at Oringowello
• 12.00pm: Lunch in Abim
• 2.00pm: Depart for Lira
• 4.30pm Arrive guest house Lira
• 7.00pm: Dinner at Guest house (O/night Lira)
• (Included meals: Lunch and Dinner, Morning tea, bottled water)
Day 9: Sat
• 8.00am: Breakfast at Guest House
• 9.30am: Depart for Murchison Falls
• 1.00pm: Lunch at Parra Safari Lodge overlooking Nile River.
• 2.30pm: Swim in pool or relax
• 4:00pm: Afternoon /evening safari Drive – will see Elephants, giraffes, Hippos, plus many other animals, possibility of seeing Lions and leopard.
• 7.30pm: Dinner at Parra Safari Lodge
• Incl meals: Full board inc. – drinks are additional cost
• Option to reduce cost of trip by appox $200 p/p is for team to stay at Red Chilli Safari Lodge – please note this is a budget lodge but is clean and still enjoyable.
Day 10: Sun
• 6.00am: Morning game Drive – will see Elephants, giraffes, Hippos, plus many other animals, possibility of seeing Lions and leopard.
• 9.30am: Return for Breakfast at Lodge
• 11.00am: relax around pool
• 1.00pm: Lunch
• 2.00pm: Afternoon boat launch up Nile River to Murchesion Falls – will see Hippos and Crocs in the Nile and also various animal drinking and feeding on banks of Nile River.
• 7.30pm: Dinner at Lodge (O/night Parra)
• Incl meals: Full board – drinks are additional cost
Day 11: Mon
• 8.00am: Breakfast at Lodge
• 9.30am: Depart for Kampala
• 1.00pm: Arrive in Kampala – lunch
• Option to go craft market shopping in Kampala
• Overnight at Guesthouse Kampala
Day 12: Tue
• 8.00am: Breakfast at Guest House
• 10.00am: Jordan House Community centre interact with Preschool children at Jordan House – participate in Community library and story time sessions.
• 12:00pm: Lunch Jordan house or option to have lunch out and shop at local markets for remainder of afternoon
• 4.00pm: rtn to Guesthouse
Day 13: Wed
• 8.00am: Breakfast at Guest House
• 10.00am: prepare and pack for departure
• 12:00pm: Lunch at Quality hill and debrief.
• 2:00pm: Depart for Entebbe Airport for departure
